Schenectady, New York is a city located in the state of New York. It's located just to the west of Albany, and it's home to more than 67,000 residents. Schenectady is known for its culture and diversity—and also for its famous cheese rolls!

Schenectady is one of the most economically diverse cities in New York State. It has many different types of businesses, including those that manufacture everything from fire hydrants to textile machinery. There are also many restaurants and hotels in this region that cater to tourists who want to visit during the summer months.

The city is also home to several colleges: Union College, Schenectady County Community College, and Excelsior College. These institutions help contribute to the thriving economy by providing job opportunities for graduates seeking employment after graduation.

MORE ABOUT THE CITY

The city was originally settled by the Mohawk Native American tribe. It was later colonized by Dutch settlers in the 17th century, and became part of the United States when colonists defeated Britain in the Revolutionary War. In 1798, Schenectady was incorporated as a city.

Schenectady has been home to many notable residents over the years including: Joseph Brant (Chief of Mohawks), Robert Montgomery Bird (American writer), Robert Fulton (Inventor), John Philip Sousa (Band leader).

In 1661, Dutch settlers moved into the area and named the city after their hometown of Schenefelde, Germany. They built Fort Crailo to protect themselves from Native Americans and other European settlers who were trying to take over their new home. In 1798, Schenectady became the first incorporated city in New York state (after Manhattan). It's also home to Union College—one of the oldest colleges in America!

Farm-Fresh Flowers

Frank Gallo Florist offers the best selection of beautiful, farm-fresh flowers in Schenectady, NY. Some of the gorgeous blooms we sell are sourced locally. Other flowers we sell are purchased directly from the growers and wholesalers. We are large enough that we can buy from both domestic and international farms. That gives our customers a huge advantage. Buying direct allows us to reduce the time between when the flowers are cut at the farm, and when they arrive here at the floral design center for use in creating gorgeous bouquets. Working with fresher products ensures our customers get to enjoy the bouquets longer. Purchasing direct also means we can reduce the price to acquire the flowers. We share much of that cost savings directly with our customers.

There's nothing quite like the look and feel of fresh flowers in your home. The beautiful colors and textures make them an ideal way to bring nature indoors and make any room more welcoming. Farm-fresh flowers are grown on family farms that have been operating for generations. They're often planted by hand and nurtured by people who have worked on that farm for years. Those flowers are then picked by hand and packaged with care. When they arrive here at our flower shop, our team unboxes them, provides them with nutrition, then properly prepares them for use in creating the stunning bouquets we offer.

100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee

MOST POPULAR FLOWERS IN SCHENECTADY

Frank Gallo Florist offers the best selection of fresh cut flowers in Schenectady.

Alstroemeria - are often referred to as Peruvian lily. These are incredibly beautiful and versatile flowers. These amazing blooms come in a wide range of colors, including pink, red, white, yellow and purple. They can be used in any bouquet or arrangement to add a pop of color or to complement other flowers in your arrangement. Because alstroemeria are so sturdy, they last for several days after being cut from the plant.

Alstroemeria are unique among flowers because they grow on short stems with large blooms—making them ideal for creating large-scale arrangements that need to be able to stand up on their own. They also have a low water content, meaning they don't need re-watering very often and can travel well without wilting during transit.

Carnations - Carnations are one of the most popular flowers in the world. They are often used in wedding bouquets, but they can also be used to create beautiful bouquets for any occasion. Carnations are available in an array of colors, so you can find a carnation that will match your wedding theme or whatever you're celebrating.

A variety of different types of carnations exist, including single-colored, double-colored and semi-carnations. Single-colored carnations are usually red or pink in color, while double-colored carnations can be pink on one side and white on another side (known as "pink and white"). Both types come in other colors as well, such as orange and yellow. Semi-carnations have five petals per flower instead of four (like most flowers). They generally come in shades of orange and yellow.

Carnations are also available in a wide range of sizes from very small to very large—so if you're looking for a small flower that won't take up too much room in your arrangement but still packs a punch with its beauty, carnations may be the perfect choice!

Gerbera Daisies - Gerbera daisies are a beautiful flower that can be used in a variety of ways. Gerbera daisies are a type of Chrysanthemum, which means they're related to the classic mums you see in fall bouquets and wreaths. But unlike those traditional flowers, gerbera daisies have more petals and are much more vibrant in color.

Gerbera daisies are also unique because they don't need to be cut from the plant in order to bloom—they'll bloom after being picked! This is why you'll often see them used in flower arrangements as well as fresh bouquets.

Frank Gallo Florist uses gerbera daisies in many of our gorgeous flower arrangements because they're bright and cheerful, but they also have an elegance that makes them perfect for any occasion or event.
